This is a Northwoods Creations "work in progress", which will be available shortly - keep an eye on the store.   Moose are native to the Northwoods of North America and they shed (lose) and re-grow their antlers every year.  This way, they start each mating season with brand-new head-gear for their battles for herd dominance and winning the intimate affections of the lady moose!  This artwork is made from a naturally shed, real moose antler found on the ground in the wild and carved by the artist to depict a Brown Bear collecting supper from the falls as the salmon make their way upriver to spawn.  This is a spectacle every year in the Pacific Northwest when the salmon return from the sea back to the river of their origin to lay their own eggs for the next generation.  Bears, and all sorts of other creatures, gather in anticipation for the salmon to arrive,  returning to favorite spots along the river to catch these fish and store up fat reserves for the long winter ahead.  This antler is large-ish measuring 27 inch wide, 23 inch high and 12 inches in depth.  I am currently working to fit this antler to a burlwood base.
